New Year's Resolutions? As if.

In the past, I've hated this question, the concept of resolutions as a whole. Don't get me wrong; I love lining out goals and changes but narrowing it down to something consistent for the year? Not likely. The only goal that I truly stick to is my Goodreads goal. (Did I cram in a bunch of *objectively* shitty romance books to meet it? Yes! I never claimed to be a literary scholar...)

Going on 23, I've realized that maybe I should be expanding to some specific goals. Like law school and actually using my Equinox membership for more than the eucalyptus towels.

To make it a bit easier, I'm using We're Not Really Stranger's new year's bingo card; my beautiful friend Brianna suggested it. Without the right mindset, resolutions can easily set us up to fail. It’s easy to get tripped up on deadlines and daily consistency, with one bad day ruining the rest of the year. WNRS is an easy way to check off 24 ways to stay a bit more grounded that don't require perfection, just reflection. Maybe even the next few days to do a bit of mental (or physical) spring cleaning. In the wise words of Maddy Bates, “Get rid of the extra bullshit."

It's also coming up on this blog's 1st birthday! Literally, where has the time gone? One big resolution for 2023 is to write more, specifically here. So get ready for more of my incessant rambling about book boyfriends, homemade apple pie (apparently, I like it now), and restaurant recommendations.
