Can't say fan fiction never taught me anything.

Hey, it's been a while. Between now and my last post, my Nana passed away. I promise this blog isn't becoming an obituary page, but grief is such an odd process and I forgot how nice it is to type into the abyss now and then.

Earlier this summer, I read "Measure of a Man," don't try to find it at your local Barnes & Noble; it won't be there because this is a Dramione fanfic. It wasn't my all-time favorite, but it was pretty good and taught me a few things along the way. This isn't a book review, but if you're bored, it is a great way to spend a whole week reading (fair warning: this one clocks in around 2,400 pages).

Anyway, in MOAM, when the Golden Girl isn't having the best time, she bakes for her friends, affectionately calling them "sad pies." I've realized I'm pretty big on cooking while I'm upset. I don't care that much about eating what I've made, but there's something very therapeutic about being in a kitchen with some music and a glass of wine or tea. P.S. Rosemary Tea is also seriously underrated.

Anyway, since my parents are relaxing in the South of France for the foreseeable future, it's just me and a bunch of random pie recipes. Plot twist: I wouldn't say I like pie. It's probably my least favorite dessert (except for bread pudding, that's another monster altogether)
