If my room could be as far from church bells as possible, I do enjoy sleeping in. Also, darker greens and golds compliment my skin tone best, so if that could be arranged as well...

I'm obviously talking about Edinburgh Castle; I'll settle for nothing less. It's called self-care.

Kidding, they've turned all the pretty bits into offices. But, there's just something about the view that would make living in an old war tower totally doable.

Settled on a steep hillside overlooking historic and modern Edinburgh sits the place of my absolute affection. I tried my best to get pictures, when my embarrassingly severe fear of heights wasn't messing it up. But, the views aren't the only thing about the sweeping castle that is just so fascinating; it's perfection for a good ole history nerd.

There's a reason why I channeled my inner old lady and bought a membership. I could've spent all day looking at the stunning collections they have going on. From swords to service medals and even the Honours of Scotland are on display, and it's an incredibly cohesive representation of the country's history and people.

The only thing missing was more visual depictions of what the infamous highlanders looked like.
